Following last year’s The Witching Hour, Bristol based artist and multi-instrumentalist Emily Spetch - aka Emily Magpie - returns to grace our ears with a new spellbinding EP. Taken from the EP, title track and new single Be Your Own Light flows with Emily’s heart-wrenching celestial vocals, alongside glitchy electro hooks and an empowering sentiment, creating a truly dazzling soundscape.

Be Your Own Light, the new EP from Emily Magpie, is out 8th October 2018.

Twist Helix get emotionally creative in blistering new video!

To celebrate the release of their debut album Ouseburn, Twist Helix have now shared the powerful new video for their previous single Graphite. Talking about the video, the band elaborate, "we all let our anxieties get to us, meaning that we often give up too soon. One of the hardest things to do as an artist is to balance the need to remain critical, with the need of retaining confidence in your vision. That conflict makes the creative process messy; you have to be open to making mistakes in order to learn from them. What we hope comes across in the video is a sense of catharsis. We strongly believe that artistic creation, while emotionally challenging, offers an opportunity for renewal and restoration."

Ouseburn, the new album from Twist Helix, is available to stream on Spotify.

Beginning intimately with just Robin Joel Sangster (vocals /acoustic guitar) and Duncan Menzies’ (vocals / mandolin / fiddle) intricate vocal harmonies and the gentle hum of frogs croaking in the distance, a sense of warmth is immediately apparent. The pace then picks up as Menzies’ mesmerising fiddle playing comes into play alongside Sangsters’ melodic acoustic guitar, giving Hung Up Alone a truly traditional British folk feel.
