Steve Young

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Steve Young has always had a fervent relationship with music. He experienced success as a songwriter and saxophonist with The Secret Souls, The Imagineers and Alabaster Jones, as well as playing gigs with legendary Glasgow band Scheme. Following his dalliance with a full band set-up, it was time for Steve to go solo, releasing his debut single ‘Endlessly Changing’ in April 2021.

With his first taste of commanding the limelight in his own right, Steve has followed his debut release up with latest single, Last Supper. Exploring the dreams, failures, vulnerability and delights of love, Last Supper combines the pop soundscapes of Lennon and McCartney with the classic rock leanings of Tom Petty. Earthy strummed guitar is accented by Steve’s soothing vocals and characterised by melodic hooks and a memorable chorus. Last Supper is a track that pierces the heart of who Steve is as a musician: eclectic and unashamedly earnest.

With ‘Endlessly Changing’ out and Last Supper on the horizon, Steve is aiming to maintain the momentum he has built with further releases throughout the course of 2022. Taking influence from a multitude of artists and genres, ranging from Bowie to Arcade Fire and John Coltrane to Bob Dylan, Steve is eager to share his distinctive sound with a wider audience.

Last Supper is due for release on 6th May 2022 via Let’s Pretend Records.
