“…effortlessly cool…” - The Skinny
Future-soul two-piece LUNIR release their vibrant new single, Wadidi, out now.
Wadidi is a crisp, captivating track about self-dependence. Combining elements of R&B, soul and electronica, the single is an undeniably slick slice of forward-thinking musicality that defies genre. Becky Sikasa’s smooth, sultry lead vocal soars effortlessly over woozy electronics to create a kaleidoscopic hybrid of colour and soul, sounding akin to the likes of Solange and Glass Animals.
In 2015, Becky (vocals, guitar, keys, vocal looping) and David Scobie (vocals, drums, synths, vocal looping) originally formed LUNIR as a five-piece in Edinburgh. In 2017, they downsized to a two-piece and have since gained support from the likes of BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway and Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly to name a few. They have also sold out shows and toured across the UK and Germany, performing for the BBC, Sofar Sounds and a number of European festivals. With Wadidi, this impressive duo hope to mesmerise listeners further with their unique blend of genres and acoustic and synthetic sounds.
Wadidi is out now.
