Iris King
Having started writing poetry at the tender age of twelve years old, London-based artist Iris King seamlessly developed into an accomplished songwriter.
Honing her sound over the years, King would go onto create a dreamy, hook-filled brand of indie pop in the mould of artists such as Phoebe Bridgers. Her poignant sound gained immediate attention from some of the industry’s movers and shakers with the likes of Noisey, The Line of Best Fit and New Music Friday recognition, as well as singing and writing music for BBC America’s Orphan Black.
Now returning under her own name, King is preparing to release her latest single, I did, I will, I do. A reflective, bittersweet song, King skilfully blends elements of indie, pop and folk to create a brooding love story. King’s earnest lyricism paints a rich tapestry to the listener, with I did, I will, I do exploring themes of falling in love and embracing stability and comfort, rather than the volatility of chaotic relationships.
The track was written and recorded in LA and produced by Blonder who has previously worked with notable artists including Ryn Weaver and Anna Shoemaker. I did, I will, I do will kick off a run of releases over the coming year, with King aiming to make a mark through her emotive brand of songwriting.
I did, I will, I do is out on 10th July.
