Fat Dads

Having formed in early 2022, indie-rock five-piece, Fat Dads, have made an immediate impact upon music lovers far and wide. Their raw sound, coupled with DIY ethics and ability to write memorable indie dance-floor-fillers, has resonated throughout the music industry as they bask in the acclaim of tastemakers ranging from Radio 1’s Nels Hylton to Radio X’s John Kennedy.

Disillusioned with the industry, having played in multiple bands over the years, guitarist Steven Dixon decided it was time take a break. After a short few months Steven was inspired by Wet Leg’s ‘Wet Dream’. Re-energised, Steven was eager to create music with like-minded artists once again.

Coming together from all over the country - three from Carlisle, one from the Wirral and one from Kirkcudbright in Scotland - Fat Dads were officially born. With a shared love of bands such as The Stokes, Sports Team and RATS, Fat Dads set about creating a sound in their own image.

2023 has seen the band more productive than ever before with two singles - ‘Girlfriend' and 'Double Time' - under their belt and the latest, Jenny, due for release in November. Jenny is another indie-rock banger that swirls around the subconscious for days on end. Their ability to write melodic, catchy, nuanced rock music is on full display and illustrates why the band are ‘ones to watch’ in 2024.

Fat Dads performed a packed out show at Kendall Calling earlier this year and 2024 looks even more exciting. The band have a live session on John Kennedy's Radio X show coming up, as well as a six date tour booked for January and February and support slots with Andrew Cushin and The View to follow.

Jenny is out on 2nd November 2023.
