Dictator

Scottish four-piece Dictator return with the release of their immersive new single Mirror Mirror, out 30th July 2021 via Blackhall Records, Edinburgh.

Combining elements of indie-rock with woozy electronics and vibrant psychedelic moments, Mirror Mirror creates eclectic soundscapes that will inevitably push boundaries of what you thought Dictator were capable of. Produced by Adam Warrington (YUNGBLUD) and taking inspiration from classic artists such as Primal Scream to modern acts like Gorillaz and Alt-J, Dictator have written a statement aimed at the stranglehold social media has on us all today and how those seeking validation are often those who we perceive to be the most confident.

Hailing from the creatively fertile land of West Lothian, the band began on the same circuits as Lewis Capaldi and shared the same stages in previous iterations before eventually becoming Dictator and even shared a rehearsal room with album chart toppers The Snuts. Dictator have already received praise from the likes of XS Noize, With Guitars, Radio X and BBC Introducing to name a few.

Now signed to brand new Scottish label Blackhall Records, the band hope to captivate listeners further with their own unique blend of indietronica. You can catch Dictator live next at their single launch party at SHOUT! Music Bar, Edinburgh on 30th July 2021. The guys will be performing a special stripped back show and also recording an interview with frontman Michael Campbell for an exclusive podcast.
