Celsius

Cardiff duo Celsius, comprised of brothers Conor and Callum, have taken a slightly different approach to writing and producing pop music. With extensive musical experience that belies their young years, Conor ultimately graduated as a classical pianist with Callum honing his contemporary music skills at Bristol’s renowned music college BIMM.

With the pair bringing their own unique skills to the table - Callum expertly takes lead vocal and chief songwriter, with Conor on lead guitar as well as utilising his classical expertise to arrange the songs Callum has written. The duo’s boundless talent is on full display on their debut single, Further Than The Moon.

The single is an illustration of Celsius’ ability to write impactful, emotive music, both challenging and warming. Bittersweet lyricism shines through from the opening few seconds as Callum’s beautiful vocal is delivered with a powerful intensity. Sumptuous harmonies flutter from the speakers as the track undulates throughout five plus minutes, highlighting Conor’s accomplished musical arrangement. Further Than The Moon is a seriously impressive debut from a band who will only grow with each passing release.

The distinctive sound Celsius create is, in part, owed to their eclectic love of various styles of music. Whether it be Bach to The Beatles or Hozier to Haydn, Celsius are always willing to defying genre. As a result, the duo create a style that they can call their own. Using counterpoint and other classical techniques has led to a collection of songs that range from pop and piano ballads to psychedelia.

Celsius will follow the release of Further Than The Moon with a number of singles in 2023, including ‘Waterfall’, ‘Wish I Could Stay’ and ‘Greatest Loss’. Having spent a substantial amount of time in the studio they have developed an impressive body of work, as well as appealing to their contemporaries on TikTok, racking up over 600,000 likes on the social media platform.

Further Than The Moon is out on 18th November 2022.
