Nina Wagner (vox) and Ben Raine (bass & vox) have already been compared to The Kills and The White Stripes. However, their sound is darker and heavier, more soulful and progressive. The Unkindness of Ravens are a band to be judged entirely on their own considerable merits.

Within a short space of time, Ravens have caused rumblings in tastemaker magazines, blogs and websites such as Clash, Artrocker, The 405, Panic Dots, Subba Cultcha, God Is In The TV plus plays from XFM undeground tastemaker supreme: John Kennedy. They even managed to bag video plays in Topshop stores around the UK.
The London two-piece are fiercely independent, but to call them lo-fi would be a disservice; nothing they do is about staying off the radar. They set up their own record label - Sonic Fire Records - to release their debut double a-side single Accelerator / Yours Forever But Not To Hold, and their debut full length is planned for release early 2011.
It’s an exciting time for The Unkindness of Ravens; their sound is genre melding and boundary hopping, taking the best from rock, dance, soul and indie to create melodies and beats completely unique to their personalities. With a good body of releases planned and a plethora of tour dates soon to be announced, these guys seriously intend to stay firmly on your radar.
